How to Choose Your Best Idea (Without Second-Guessing It for 3 Weeks)

Drowning in ideas? Use this 4-step clarity filter to pick the right one, fast, and build something you’re proud of.

Hey, product-preneur!

Ever feel like you’re sitting on 14 ‘genius’ ideas but can’t commit to one? Me too.

That’s why I stole this from my own inner chaos and turned it into a framework, like organizing a junk drawer with a flamethrower. 🔥

It helped me filter seven half-baked ideas, land on one that felt aligned in that moment, and ship a waitlist page in under 48 hours.

What’s bubbling in this week’s potion:

  • 4-question filter to slaughter your “maybes” and spot “the one”

  • How to test if your idea has teeth without building a thing

  • The mental shift that turns spirals into sprints (and results)

Ideas Are a Hell of a Drug

My brain runs on strategizing like it's cocaine. I have an idea, I pile it into my notes like another log on the fire. Rinse and repeat.

News flash: the roof is now on fire and I don't know what to do because I can't pick a direction, which leads to never starting confidently. Sound familiar?

What we really need is to practice this one skill above all else.

No, you don't need more inspiration.

You need a filter.

A quick way that you can easily look at your list and know which way to go. A system that takes under an hour to get you to clarity and move toward your $100M business idea.

That's why I stole this from chaos and made it a framework. 👇

Why Most Creators Stall

Our brains naturally avoid discomfort, so don't forget to hijack back control the moment you wake up for the day.

The worst thing you can do is wake up and ask yourself, "What do I feel like today?" If you did that, you would choose the "fun" path 90% of the time.

Hell, even I have days I wake up and play Settlers of Catan on my phone. Naturally, I stall out of the most creative moments of my day when I'm in my caffeine flow state, like a scene in the movie Limitless.

Your reasons for stalling may be different, but we all have this one thing in common: we want to stay focused on what matters and make real progress.

The problem isn't that you're lazy or lack motivation. The problem is that choosing feels like committing to potentially being wrong.

Reality check: The fear of choosing the wrong idea is actually keeping you from learning what the right idea looks like.

The Four-Point Filter

Here's how I solved idea overload for my business so that I can turn from a generic (bald) content creator to a media company empire:

  1. Mindset Reset: Mindset is everything, so I've been studying it all year, consuming intentional content that brings clarity into my life. This step is not about perfection. You're not choosing your forever business. You're choosing the next step that makes sense now. #shipugly

  2. Idea Cauldron Sprint: Get all ideas out of your head and into one place, but in a guided space, list no more than 5-10 ideas with four key prompts:

    1. “Why does this excite me?”

    2. “Who does it help?”

    3. “Where did this come from?”

    4. “Have I created something like this before?”

  3. Aligned Action Filter: Take the results from your sprint and score them to pick the most aligned, testable, story-worthy idea. Filter and score them through the following:

    1. "Do I care enough to finish this?"

    2. “Could this solve a real problem or pain?”

    3. "Can I test this in 7-10 days?"

    4. “Does it align with my existing brand or skills?”

    5. “Do I want to be seen building this in public?”

  4. The Signal Sprint: You only need one spark, so don't overcomplicate this. This is where you signal test (share a story or poll), make it tangible (start a waitlist or mockup), and loop the feedback. Three steps that turn your idea from theory into reality.

Why Speed Beats Perfection Every Single Time

Speed kills the urge to overthink. It shoves you out of the “maybe later” spiral and into real movement.

Whether you’re a creator, solo builder, or designer spinning on 14 decent ideas, you need more time to think—it’s one clear direction you can trust and test.

Speed turns your overthinking into a focused, low-stakes therapy session. One that ends with a tangible thing you can point to and say:

“Yep. That’s mine. I built that.”

Brew Clarity, Ship Ugly, Create Revenue

I’ve been stuck in that loop. Piling up ideas. Waiting for “the one.”

One signal spark pushed me into UI/UX design, turning it into a full-time career, doubling my income, and letting me walk away from customer service slavery at Amazon (forever).

That’s why I built the Idea-to-Offer Clarity Kit.

It’s a system designed to help you cut through your mental clutter, pick the right idea, and turn it into a real offer fast, like under 60 minutes fast.

No more second-guessing. Just clarity and momentum. Like racing your Hot Wheels down a single lane track (nostalgic, right?).
