Hey, {{first_name | product-preneur}}!
My mom is 65 and she has Instagram. We use it to send each other videos. Mostly I try to make her and my sister cry by sending emotional stuff, and they never do. It's a whole thing.
About a week ago she sent me an ad. Some guy testing pillows. And I'm basically Goldilocks with these things. I'm a 6’6” behemoth of a man and I have been rotating through every pillow in existence trying to find the one. Flat pillow. Thick pillow. Every single morning I wake up and my neck, my shoulders, and my head feel like they got into a fight and lost. I'm a zombie.
So I watched the whole video. And yeah, it looked too good to be true. I've seen a million of these. But I just got paid, and the pain was stabbing me in the eyeballs, and this guy is right there on screen showing pillow after pillow, showing the difference, showing the relief. I said “whatever, fuck it.” Bought it. Cooling cover and all.
Here's the thing. The proof was right there. I could see the result before I spent a dollar. The pain was real, the timing was right, and they showed me the thing. That's the only reason I bought.
If you're making a big promise on your product page and not showing me the output, the result, the end of the journey, you're just describing the pillow. You're not handing it to me. And seeing is believing. If I can't see it, I don't believe it, and I don't buy it.
Brewers' Bulletin
Last week on YouTube: I broke down how LinkedIn built a $2B/year business on a blurred list and the exact psychological trick behind it. If you missed it, go watch. Watch now!
The Leak Ledger: Every week I audit three real products from Product Hunt and score them across five UX and conversion categories. Free, delivered every Friday. View now!

Potion of the Week
Out of 10 products I audited, Leak 2 showed up in at least four of them, and it is the most fixable one on the list.
Here is the pattern: you built something real, it actually works, but the person landing on your page has already been burned by five other tools that made the exact same promise and delivered hot garbage.
So they show up skeptical by default, and your page just assumes they believe you. They do not. Not yet.
I can tell you I make the best tacos you have ever had. But if I do not hand you a glorious, dripping, beautiful taco, you are not going to believe me. That is just a shitty deal.
ProdShort is a good example of this. Their headline is great: "Your meetings are full of content. You just never clip them." It hits like a YouTube title, builds curiosity, and then I am staring at a recording interface and a vague GIF cycling through recording, selecting, creating, done.
Cool process. But what does the actual finished clip look like? I have no idea. And before I click that button to find out, I am already wondering if it is going to ask me to pay, drag me through a whole form, or harvest the rest of my soul before I ever see the result.
The fix is not complicated.
Left-align the copy, put a 5 to 10 second autoplay loop of a finished clip right next to it, show me the wow moment before you show me anything else. The process can live below. The features can live below. The pricing can live below. But the thing I am actually getting? That goes first.
Show the output above the fold. Before the feature list, before the testimonials, before the explainer video.
A real before and after does more work than any headline you could write. Stop describing the taco. Hand me the taco.

A bit of satire, but these are real leak examples made with Claude Design.
